Getting to Reykjavik

There are four ways to get from Keflavík airport to Reykjavík city. You can rent a car, go on the Flybus or Airport-direct busses, take a taxi, or catch the number 55 which is the public bus.

Flybus and Airport direct
Both the Flybus and Airport-direct companies have fixed departure areas at the airport just outside the arrival area.

The Flybus and Airport-direct busses depart according to a schedule in connection with arriving passenger flights 24/7. Tickets are bookable online or on site. If you miss one bus, your ticket should normally be valid on the next bus.

Departures from within Reykjavík city are at designated stops but in some cases they also provide pick ups and drop offs at selected hotels and guesthouses throughout the city. For more information and tickets click here for Flybus, click here for Airport direct.

By public bus Strætó
Bus 55 drives between the capital area and Keflavik International Airport every day. For more information and tickets click here.

The public bus service does not operate during nights.

By Taxi
At Keflavik Airport, you can get a taxi 24 hours a day. If you catch a taxi on site we recommend that you ask about the price before the journey starts. 

Nighttime price for a small car is around 20.000 ISK, and daytime prices are around 17.000 ISK (prices subjected to change and not guaranteed). Due to high number of expected guests in late June, booking before arrival is recommended. Booking is possible on the respective taxi companies websites.
